DRUM MASTA DRUM SHOW – 12th December 2010

Our new, fun hyper energetic character the DRUM MASTA will take you and your family on a magical journey as you learn the 10 steps to become…a master.
It’s fun and as always with our adventure stories, there is also so much to be learned as you drum and sing along to more songs in one show than we have ever attempted before. All without the aid of a safety net!

Our interactive djembe drumming shows for kids gets kids drumming to our original adventure stories, songs and loads of exciting drumming games. The kids love it!

In an age of so much technology and other distractions, we are helping you to heighten their acute listening skills, ability to focus intently, as well as develop their self confidence. It’s also a whole heap of fun too, designed to lift their energy levels and helps them feel connected as a group.

 What’s an interactive drumming show?

We provide each child / parent with an authentic djembe drum from Ghana & they get to drum and sing along with the co-creator of DRUMKiDZ Andy Byskup, whom is the busiest facilitator of this kind in the Cape with over 250 events completed so far this year!

We have created two rather cool and awesome characters called Kaz and Dje. These guys inadvertently discover two magical djembe drums that give them the power to travel backwards and forwards in time, where they get involved in sorts of crazy adventures and battles, meeting loads of amazing people and creatures along the way. Without giving too much away, they soon discover that they have to embark on a journey of self discovery where not only do they help put right some of the wrongs of the past but they develop the ability to use new super human powers. They soon realise that they must complete all of their challenges to get back to the present time and place from which they come! Phew.

So we journey through one of our original adventure stories, narrated by Andy, complete with funky projected visuals. We all get to experience being part of the actual story as we drum and sing to our original recorded songs from our audio drumming series available on CD. It’s a real blast! Total energy and tons of fun.

It’s easy to forget isn’t it? But one thing that we do know for sure is that once upon a time, we were all kids and we knew that absolutely anything was possible – we could fly like Superman  stick to a wall like Spiderman, or be the fairy princess who changes the frog back into a handsome prince…we could just be and seemingly do anything! Wasn’t that a great feeling?
 
For most us, our kids are our inspiration and a reminder of just what the true spirit of human nature is really all about…belief, passion and being connected to one another. Really being present. As adults we just need to remember!
 
For us as adults to be able to re-discover our own inner child again and access a perspective of the world where there are no barriers and limitations is incredibly liberating and invigorating.
 
Remember the time that you took the kids to a theme park or a school fair and all of the family joined in, going on rides, jumping castles and playing crazy competitions to win a furry blue crocodile the size of your pinkie? The family came back feeling exhilarated and really in sync with one another.
